Engine Cooling System Repair & Maintenance
Engines produce a lot of heat and it is the responsibility of the cooling system to safely move this heat away. An overheated vehicle can leave you stranded on the side of the road with an expensive tow and even more expensive repair bills. Watch for these early warning signs to ensure your vehicle receives proper attention before a small problem becomes a big one:
- Green, yellow or orange fluid puddle on the ground. This is caused by leaking coolant and likely requires the radiator to be serviced.
- Engine temperature gauge moves past the halfway mark. This can be caused by a faulty thermostat or lack of coolant.
- Steam rising from hood. If this happens the coolant has reached its boiling point and the vehicle should be stopped immediately.
