What's That Clunking Noise? Diagnosing Your Import Auto's Repair Problem

Sep 8th, 2011

We've all done it. Tried to explain a noise to our mechanics by trying to imitate it. Nrr-rr-rr-rr. Or ka-chuga ka-chuga.

Your undoubtedly awesome acting skills aside, it's hard to diagnose a car's problem by imitating the noise. Take it to your auto repair shop for a proper checkup and so the mechanics can hear the noise for themselves.

Cars are like people. We need to see the doctor at least once a year for an annual physical and checkup to make sure that we are doing well. A car needs to be taken to the mechanic for a proper checkup to make sure that all the pieces are running smoothly.

Getting an oil change is very important to maintain your car and insure that it runs smoothly; a car needs its oil changed about every 3,000 miles. Additionally, the brakes need to be checked to make sure that the padding is up to par so you can stop without sliding or delayed reaction. These simple checkups can help you to avoid injuries from a car accident, or having small problems become larger, more expensive problems.

If you skip these basic necessities, you may save some money in the short run, but you'll suffer in the long run, as your car faces major repair problems, including breaking down completely. We've had customers who ended up needing a whole new engine, or had to buy a new car, when even $50  of minor work would have prevented the problem.

Diagnosing your import auto repair issues is even more crucial than domestic cars because often times the pieces required to repair these vehicles needs to be imported from the original country of manufacture.

These repairs can be time consuming and expensive. It is in your best interest to avoid waiting until the last minute to get the required work done. Be proactive and get it checked as soon as you hear and feel something that is not right.

If you stay on top of the maintenance of your import automobile, it will function properly longer. Spending smaller amounts of money more frequently is better than dropping a huge amount of cash to fix one major problem.
